my other shiny new show

USA has a new show, one episode shown so far, called Burn Notice. Not nearly as enigmatic or profound as John From Cincinatti *clutches J from C to my heart*, but a lot of fun! Burn Notice features a spy who could be Krycek's slightly lighter-hearted cousin (he even speaks Russian) who has been "burned" or cut off from his contacts and resources, for reasons unknown to him. He's been deposited in Miami, his home town, and someone gave his mother his phone number. He has to survive on his wits and skills ("good at tactical analysis, hand to hand combat, and a decent cook"), defeating bad guys, defending the underdog, and fending (off) his hypochondriac mother, played by Sharon Gless. Thurs nights on USA.

Yes! I really enjoyed the pilot ep and I think the casting is great. Now let's see if they can keep up to the quality they started out with...

Krycek's slightly lighter-hearted cousin

The mind boggles. :) It does sound like fun though.

I'm going to be, now that you've told me about it!

I am -- I've been looking forward to it for a few months, since I heard about it. I was very fond of Jeffrey Donovan in the US remake of Touching Evil, and I enjoyed the BN pilot a lot! JD has such a very expressive face.
