This was a tangent that came off the Highlander panel on warrior/priest pairings. Apparently they happen, a lot. The concept reminds me a bit of Talcott Parsons' idea that in every group there naturally emerges a task leader and a process leader. The task leader is focused, goal-oriented, on point. The process leader watches the margins, the interactions, the feelings, the spaces between, and guides them either by empathic connection and reflection, or more direct commentary meta to the process being directed by the task leader. So, warrior as task leader, priest as process leader. These identifications CAN relate to stereotypical male/female roles but don't have to.

Herein, the list:

warrior priest

or arguably,

Jack (TW) Jack (TW) -- yes, he plays both roles, one possible explanation
for why the team doesn't function all that well

And no, I'm not at all obsessed with the Doctor Who/Torchwood-verses, why do you ask? *g*
