Bezalel's Ring

Bezalel's Ring

The rhythms of the dark and light of the year
teach us to watch for things in cycles.
The year turns, the day lengthens once more,
and we are saved.
The dark, too, has its time -- a time of
turning in, of things that birth only
out of sight, in velvet blackness, in
silent yearning.

The light, too, has its time, again.
Breathe. You, too, have arrived here, now.
A time of want. A time to be released.
A time of breaking through the
lethargy of time, of stumbling song,
and tripping into and out of
shadow. Blinking stupidly,
at the same old sun.

Hello, sun.

This, too, shall pass.

********

Happy solstice, everyone.

For a Canadian, winter lasts forever and is so dark. And December is always the darkest. It's quite possible to go to work in the dark and come home in the dark and never see the sun.

I like this. It's coming out of hibernation. :)

it's still long nights and short days, here, too (though not as much as where you are... but this IS the turning point at which the days begin to get longer, even if that fact will be mostly theoretical for a while. *s*
