So, on my solution focused therapy list, I had the thought, that solution focused therapy is much like the book of Genesis: there is a focus on a desired future, which is described, and then it comes to be.
"Let there be light."
Which then led to this:
What if Genesis had been problem focused?
And God said, wtf am I going to do with all this nothing? Darkness darkness darkness, everywhere! It's been dark FOREVER. It's never not going to be dark. Oh, woe is me.
a little therapy room scene...
Problem Focused Therapist (PFT): How long have you been experiencing this "nothing" and "darkness"
Client: Forever
PFT: I'm sure it feels like that, but really, when did it all start? We need to discover its origin before we can begin to resolve it.
Client. I'm telling you, it's primordial. *loud booming voice, office furniture shakes*
PFT: Ah.....
PFT: ........
PFT: Well....that sounds... hmmm.
PFT: Have you considered you may need to learn to live with it?
Client: Woe is me. *more rumbling*
PFT: Perhaps some medication will help.
