So, on my solution focused therapy list, I had the thought, that solution focused therapy is much like the book of Genesis: there is a focus on a desired future, which is described, and then it comes to be.

"Let there be light."

Which then led to this:

What if Genesis had been problem focused?

And God said, wtf am I going to do with all this nothing? Darkness darkness darkness, everywhere! It's been dark FOREVER. It's never not going to be dark. Oh, woe is me.

a little therapy room scene...

Problem Focused Therapist (PFT): How long have you been experiencing this "nothing" and "darkness"
Client: Forever
PFT: I'm sure it feels like that, but really, when did it all start? We need to discover its origin before we can begin to resolve it.
Client. I'm telling you, it's primordial. *loud booming voice, office furniture shakes*
PFT: Ah.....
PFT: ........
PFT: Well....that sounds... hmmm.
PFT: Have you considered you may need to learn to live with it?
Client: Woe is me. *more rumbling*
PFT: Perhaps some medication will help.

For those of you who ordered Mercy on amazon and have not received it yet, my apologies. Something is royally screwed in Denmark.

Baker and Taylor, the distribution company, has told Hanford Mead, my publisher, that yes, the book has been released and is available for amazon and barnes and noble to order. Amazon and B and N, on the other hand, say, no, the B & T site says it's NOT available, which is why they can't fulfil any of their orders. (I don't have a sign-on for the B & T site to check for myself). I've forwarded B and N's response to my publisher (amazon has not responded to me yet, though they told my publisher already that their info is that the book is NOT available).

And... a year ago a psychic told me (before the book had been accepted for publication) that "oh yeah, it will DEFINITELY be published. The real issue will be the marketing and distribution." Unfortunately, she didn't give me anything to tell me how to SOLVE that problem.

GRRRRRR

(ps, Mercy IS available, sans amazon-type discount, on the publisher website, here:
