So, I signed the book contract and put it in the mail. Oddly, this has resulted in lots of crazy dreams. It's almost as if, giving over control of my poems is leaving me... naked. And lots of old, weird stuff that I thought long gone has resurfaced. Odd dreams, crying at random moments, feeling all unsorted...
The book itself feels removed from me at the moment, as does my poetry process. I've not had much inclination to write, but I trust that will return in its own time.
My friend Steve says that things feel a bit chaotic when we go through an identity change, and I am moving towards the identity of "published poet." I wonder what is next?
To my friends celebrating Christmas, I wish you the joy of the season. May we all realize, in one form or another, the rebirth of Hope.
