the premise is preposterous, sure to be gimicky: a mash-up of familiar stories of vampires, Frankenstein and his creations, and the portrait of Dorian Grey (with room for many others)...
and it WORKS. somehow the production manages to be original, surprising, and intriguing. doesn't hurt that there are some *cough* very hot scenes, of a variety of, um, varieties. :)
also, strong (and fascinating, and very individual) female characters.
.... and Timothy Dalton. Whose voice alone needs its own IMDB page.
