Does anyone know anything about where to send a hard drive for data retrieval, and how much it costs? The tech guy who looked at mine said he couldn't read the data on my drive but it was all there. Meep.

ETA: of the links supplied by Kady Mae (thanks, KM!), the first one (drivesavers) sounded good but charges $500 to $2700, and advises that most of their jobs are in the upper third of that cost estimate. The next 3 *didn't return my phone messages* which were left friday, possibly late depending on the time zones they are in, but it is now after 12 noon Pacific time, and still no return call. The last, nationwidedatarecovery, actually costs 475, not $399 once you add a "parts fee" and a shipping fee -- fair enough. The guy sounded like he had a reasonable understanding of what is what. My feeling is, if I had the money to spend, I'd go with drivesavers for a higher chance of a good result, but I'm going to go with the lower cost one as drivesavers is just out of reach. And yes, I will be doing more frequent back ups in the future. *groans*
