Oh, my goodness! That is really interesting. I wonder if that's what my aunt had done to deal with incipient sleep apnea. It seems it had to do with surgery on her tongue and throat.

thanks! there are a lot of different surgeries that get done for sleep apnea, depending on the physiology that might be contributing to it. this was an office procedure using only novocaine that literally took no more than ten minutes, total. More of a recovery process than I expected, though, which may be down to having Crohn's disease and a general tendency towards inflammation. See above, re: ornery as shit.
