lizard in the house

about 7 inches long.

runs from me when i try to shoo him towards a door.

ideas? he's kind of cute, but... i don't think there are enough bugs in here for him to be happy for very long.

They're good luck-buy a lottery ticket.

I rarely shoo out lizards. They get back in so easily. I think there's one behind the trunk in the corner right now (maybe 4-5 inches - the lizard, not the trunk, of course).

Try herding him with a broom? Or you could borrow a friend's cat and make the cat happy.

The good thing is, most of our little south-western lizards are harmless to us people. I would worry that he'd die of lack of food or water if you can't convince him outside is where he belongs, though. A local pest control might be able to give you advice on how to get him to leave.

I had a big, fat Western Spadefoot Toad in the house the other evening. He came in as I let the dogs out, and I had to move the fridge to get to him and shoo him back outside. But I managed. I much prefer the bug-eaters out where the bugs are...
