positive deviance! hee!

A serious (and very constructive!) idea with an amusing name, positive deviance is about a strategy of problem solving that starts with "what is already working well" and builds from there.

This article talks about how the principle was applied to raise nutrition among severely undernourished children in Vietnam, and talks about how building from a community's strengths and preferred ways of doing things works better than imposing external, top-down solutions.
