Ehlers Danlos Syndrome is a disease of collagen in the body that far too few people, even in the medical profession, know how to recognize, much less treat.

Please take a few minutes to go to the White House petition site and sign this petition.  You'll need to create an account, which won't take long.

I've seen the suffering EDS can cause, as it attacks systems all over the body.    Here's the gist of it:

Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) is a genetic disorder that causes faulty collagen, the most abundant protein in the human body.

What happens when this basic building block is flawed?

When muscles, ligaments, tendons and even large organs are built with structurally defective collagen there is systemic weakness and instability evident throughout the body.

Excessively mobile joints, chronic, widespread acute pain (>90% of EDS patients have had episodes of 6+ months), and generalized connective tissue fragility are cardinal features.

Once we hit 25,000 signatures, the administration will take notice.

Every signature counts. Please do your part. Forward this and get as many signatures as you can.

And here's the text of the petition:

Recognize Ehlers Danlos Syndrome: Create awareness & Have EDS recognized as a disability.

Ehlers Danlos Syndrome is a painful debilitating disease, as prevalent as multiple sclerosis, But not well known to the public or even doctors. Educate more Doctors/ healthcare providers. Recognize EDS as a disability so those who are to sick or disabled may get the help they need.

Okay NOW sign.  Thank you.  :)
