Apparently the server at my job discovered Dreamwidth and is now blocking it.   :(

In other news, I've been stocking up on disaster prep supplies.  I went to REI yesterday and bought:

a sleeping bag
a mat for the sleeping bag
a backpack pre-filled with survival gear like waterproof matches, emergency food and water, medkit, mylar sleeping bag and thin fabric tube tent, a "multi-tool" and so on.
a water filter bottle, iodine water purification tablets, and a second thing you add to make it taster palatable after the iodine.
a swiss army knife
hiking boots
socks for the boot
freeze dried food packets

on ebay i just got some paracord.  i'm checking out websites for heirloom seeds for a food garden, and for larger quantity freeze dried food supplies.

I kind of *cough* live by a volcano, you know?  A very OLD volcano, but ....  who knows what happens when the earth gets rumbly in its tummy?  Between earth changes, global warming, and 2112 hoohah, it's hard to know what to believe.   One thing that IS certain, and that is that nothing is ever certain.    I'm working in improving my conditioning, too (physically and spiritually), so if I ever do need to walk away from everything I own, I can.  

I once had a dream.   The house was on fire.  In the dream, my mother was sleeping.  I woke her up and got her out of the house.   Then I stood at the threshold, with the idea that I had just enough time to save one thing, one object from my possessions.  I heard a voice ask, "what do you save when the house is on fire?"  I heard myself answer, "nothing but yourself."     Once you've gotten the sleeping family out, of course.

So what are you all doing to be prepared?  In the event of surprises, big or small?  With the prayer to never need it, but the ability to move forward in any direction you need to, if you do.
