Alas, the jacuzzi installation was designed SO BADLY that even with the tiled access panel removed, and a skinny repairman, he couldn't REACH what he needed to to get it fixed. Which is most likely something that got sucked into the access hose, but which is COMPLETELY UNREACHABLE the way the tub is designed without lifting the entire tub up and off, which his company doesn't have the equipment to do.
The good news is, he said the motor sounds fine. Now I have to find a company that can deconstruct this entire puppy (and put it back together in a way that will be more felicitous for any future repair issues). This sounds like a more expensive proposition, argh.
