Okay guys, here's my personal pitch for supporting health care reform. Private health insurance? Completely out of reach for me due to my medical history. It doesn't even matter if I've been sick in the past 5 years. They take one look at my diagnosis (Crohn's Disease -- which has been completely in remission for YEARS) and say "no" (barring a VERY expensive plan which, frankly, is just not feasible). Lest you be concerned, I do have an excellent plan because I work in a government institution (the VA hospital system). I like working at the VA, for many reasons, and good health care coverage is one of them. I'd really like the option, however, to branch out into independent projects if I wanted to, and not be afraid of not being able to get health care. So go ahead, take 2 minutes (that's all it took for me, including a few busy signals first) and make a call to your representatives in Washington, letting you know enough is enough.
