long overdue update post:
Of the immediate, yesterday's surgery went fine. Thank you to everyone who sent prayers, healing energy, and good wishes. Just when I needed it, I felt myself bathed in golden light, washing right through me. It was beautiful. There will be biopsy results in a week or two but nothing was seen to indicate anything worrisome. The only truly uncomfortable bit was tossing lunch in the car on the way home (we went to eat after, which they had said was okay, but apparently, not so much). Discomfort was alleviated by veering to a park and lying down under a gigormous Banyan tree (with conveniently brought-along blanket) and just clutching solid ground for a while.
Of the slightly more futuristic -- I've been offered and accepted a job in Albequerque, but don't have a start date yet as the HR departments (old and new, it's a transfer) are busy working stuff out, and it being the bureaucracy that it is, this may take a while. New Mexico skies are beautiful, and I hope to lose myself in them, and in the 400-year old culture there (which, interestingly for me, includes not only Anglo and Native cultures but descendants of Jews who came with the original Spanish settlers escaping the Inquisition).
I'm hoping to be able to host guests once I'm settled, so if you've always wanted to see the Land of Enchantment, give a holler. Also, I want to get a cat, or maybe 2, to keep each other company. I've lived with cats that belonged to others before, but never cared for one myself. Tips welcome. I have a fondness for little calico girls, but am open to whichever is the right kitty who just happens along and walks into my heart.
