Back at last year's Escapade, there was an auction and I won Melina for a vid. She made me a GORGEOUS vid. It's Jack Harkness (Torchwood and Doctor Who), and uses a song I had suggested by Marc Broussard. Now, I am not a vidder, and I had only the vaguest idea of how a song might work for a vid. I knew the lyrics kind of reminded me of Jack, and I liked the song, but that was as far as it went. Melina took the lyrics and brought out every nuance of the song as a way of illuminating Jack's journey, and especially his need to connect with others along the way -- not through his eminently teasable flirtatiousness, but really from his heart, and the loneliness that is at the heart of that. She beautifully and coherantly weaves together Jack's very fractionated timeline into an emotional arc that really works. That takes some doing!

Plus, you know, it's Jack. *s*
