honey and sting

Sweden continues to delight. Yesterday I had more chances to sit in as part of a solution focused therapy team... it's incredibly inspiring to have this connection with people doing this type of work in a disciplined and passionate way. Had dinner with lovely friends of my hosts in a restored meeting house of something called the GoodTemplars, which they explained was a American temperance organization in the 19th Century, something like the Salvation Army, that came to Sweden to save the masses from the evils of alcohol. Dinner was superb (made with local grown chickens, avocado apetizer served in hollowed out avocado shells, new potatoes, and cabbage salad, with orgasmic chocolate dessert that was something between individual cakes and souffle), and conversation was even better, with the solution focused therapist wife, biologist husband, learning-to-be-ethologist daughter, H. and myself. Spirited, fun, serious... I miss being able to entertain and play with ideas at that level. It was exhilirating. Today I get on a train to go to Stockholm (I am in the very agricultural south, now.) Weather is a little overcast, but I look forward to the view from the train.
