My first "meeting" of Tiff was online -- I was at Sandy's with Methosgrrl, and Methosgrrl had Tiff on icq -- Tiff was going into labor. We cheered her on. The next year, I arrived at my first Escapade -- plane late, and luggage lost (thankfully, temporarilly). I crept into a room where I had been told lots of the Escapade folks were hanging out, watching vids. I knew that I knew some of the people in that room from online, but I had no idea what anyone looked like or who was who. During a break in the vid showing, I introduced myself quietly to a few people near me (many people crammed into a small hotel room). From across the room I heard a voice -- *YOU'RE Devo????? ..... I thought you'd be taller. And blonder." That was Tiff -- robust, direct, hilarious, friendly, welcoming. Tiff greets the world full on. She writes to break your heart, and sings to make sure the job is well and done. She's got a twinkle in her eye that never quits. She's brave and kind and very, very smart. I wish her the happiest of birthdays today.
