Funny dream the other night -- we had a president named Mark Commings. Only then it turned out he was related to Martin Short, and Short was a family name that was his middle name, which made him President Mark Short Commings. hee!
As for Spring, the neighbor's tree is hanging fruity-looking blossoms over the fence. Pretty! It rained for the last few days but is gently sunny right now. I'm still sleepy a lot, with the medication I'm taking the most likely culprit. It's also making me short of breath, which makes my "when I go to California I'm going to exercise" plan not exactly happening. But I am starting to reduce the dose, and in another week will be on half what I've been taking. The doctor thinks that should still give me the benefit but knock the side effects out. He wants me on it for a year -- it's an immunosuppressive, designed to calm down my over-active immune system (crohn's is auto-immune). I told him I wasn't happy with that idea, so he countered with 6 months, which will take me to the beginning of June. Okay, I can live with that, provided the reduced does lets me up from the need for long, daily naps.
Licensing and other updates: all the forms I need to be filled out and sent to people who will send them to people who will send them to the California State Licensing Board are out. Transcript requests, documentation of internship hours, etc. I have study materials for the California jurisprudence exam that have been sitting in the corner for a week. Boring! I'll have to figure out a schedule for tackling it so I can absorb the info without shutting my brain down from the sheer mind-numbingness of it. COBRA finally kicked in, so I can start submitting medical bills for reimbursement. Just starting with new G.I. docs and getting blood work and everything cost a thousand dollars. Yikes! Reimbursement will be very nice indeed.
Does anyone know if there is a new Boston Legal tonight? (Denny Crane!) I think I'm in love with OldFart!Shatner in a way that Captain Kirk never did me. Yes, I know. Very, very strange. I mean, I think the guy's revolting, but in an endearing sort of way? And NO, I do not see him and Alan Shore as a slash pairing -- I actually think the text of this thing is interesting enough. It's an almost spiritual kind of love -- very much aware of each other's flawedness, but rife with an unsentimental kindness towards each other. Now, if they brought Nimoy in... I'd really love to see them play with each other, onscreen, so to speak. Huh. Also, LOVE Candace Bergen's character. And this is why I don't think Shore/Crane is a slash pairing -- because Bergen's character in no way feels like an interloping OFC. She's got just as much gravitas as they do, in her own, distinctly female way. Perhaps because there is a lot of feminine energy in Shore and even Crane? As well as the masculine co-existing with the feminine in the Bergen character (sorry, can't recall her name)? Discuss, if you will. And Happy Spring!
