Escapade: an annual gathering of women to discuss -- well all kinds of things about tv and film and the stories they write about them. A place I've been to 5 of the last 6 years. A place to come back to and be with friends, lovely, talented, funny, smart women friends.
Each Escapade has its own qualities, and while in some ways this one wasn't as intense as some others I've been to, it was correspondingly the most relaxed by far. I really enjoyed seeing my fandom friends, having the SUN COME OUT after many days of rain, and selling my jewelry in the dealer room and grossing more than twice my target (which meant I got to go to the amazingly gorgeous Peruvian Bead Company on Mainstreet in Ventura and spend a bit of my earnings -- I got some really fine, richly colored faceted carnelians, some mostly purple striped rainbow flourite rondells, and many tubes of the kind of metalic seed beads I like to use as spacers).
Back in L.A., dropped Ruth off at the train station, finally got my COBRA letter so can take care of that today and have medical coverage reinstated (a good thing). Still waiting for Mom's surgery to be scheduled. I have the courses I need to take for licensing scheduled, and finally have the paperwork I need to fill out to get scores transfered (it took 2 requests and many weeks to receive the form).
Dreamed of getting poetry published -- so that's a reminder to not forget that goal as well. All in good time. I've written the third (well there were more, but of those, I like 3) in the Isaac/Akeda series. There may be one more after this... but I'm not sure. Also curious what metaphor will grab me once this one is released -- it's been with me for a VERY long time.
And the sun is shining still... time to head outside for while and breathe it in.
