The movers are coming today. It's POURING rain. ai yai yai.
In other news, I had my check up with a new doc yesterday, and got the okay to go off the relatively mild mannered steroid I've been taking. It will be a slow taper down, to avoid the effects of possible adrenal suppression. That will leave me on just one med, the immunosuppressant. I'm ancy to get off all of them, but... things seem to be working now, so I'll go along quietly, for now.
The interesting part yesterday was the (voluntary) participation in a Crohn's Disease genetic data base project. They are getting DNA samples from as many people with Crohn's as they can find, and trying to figure out the genetic profile. They've identified one gene, but not everyone with the gene has Crohn's, and other genes seem to be involved in some sort of complex interaction. So, they took a few extra vials of blood. My contribution to science. Whee.
*looking out the window and muttering* Just called "Eddie," the mover, on his cell, and asked how he handles the rain in the move. Nothing differently, apparently, which means my boxes are going to get wet, very very wet if this amount of rain keeps up by the afternoon. Which is a problem, as I was not planning to unpack everything -- some of it was to just stay as storage in the garage. But not if it might get moldy from the wet.
Rain. RAIN! GO AWAY!!!
